SPECIAL CHARACTER

  • Katimon/Catimon is an exceptional mango of Thailand which produces quality mangoes  and it is even sweeter than the Amrapali.

The amazing sweet Catimon mango is sweeter than other varieties of Mangoes. They are sweet and good to eat even when they are still in green. This Catimon Mango plant is all time plant irrespective of seasons. This can grow almost all Indian climate and Soil. You can easily plant on the terrace also in the pot. This shrub Plant can increase the beauty of your home and garden

This variety is one of the most popular mango varieties in our country.

This variety gives mango 2 to 3 times a year but it depends upon climatic conditions, usually in summer and winter seasons blooming will be huge but its not converting into fruits in few places  of India.  Fruiting is huge( like bunches of fruits) in Monsoon season. This mango is larger in size than the Amrapali variety of our country and It would be a pleasure to see the fruits hanging from the tree. Fruits are sweet in the off-season also.

The advantage of the katimon catimon cultivar is it fruits almost all around the year. However, it’s an exotic plant for “urban gardeners”. It will reach upto 10-15ft in pot, it will bloom all the time, Soil should be well-drained and fertile rich in organic content, Water thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in the winter and rainy seasons and apply any organic fertilizer.

MAXIMUM HEIGHT - Upto 4 to 6meters.

BLOOMING YEAR - Seasonal wise

FRUITING TIME - Edible fruiting will start after 1.5-2 years after purchase.

GROWING TIPS It grows best in moist, tropical, and subtropical climates.

  • If you want to grow in a pot then a minimum of 25*25 inches of length & width and maximum size depends on you.
  • You can plant at any time of the year, but the most preferable time is June to July in low rainfall areas and October to November in high rainfall areas.
  • It grows well in all soils but it shows good results in well-drained soils with an Ideal pH range is from 6.5 to 8.
  • Manures and fertilizers should be applied 2 months before the flowering seasons. Fertilizers are applied 45 to 90 cm away from the trunk.
  • No watering is done 30 days before harvest.
  • Mango trees need higher doses of nitrogen when young, but after they begin to bear fruit, they need less. At that time, they need higher doses of phosphorus and potassium, which promote flowering and fruiting.
  • Use a commercial organic fertilizer with a high percentage of potassium, such as 5-8-10, for fruit-bearing trees, or apply these nutrients with organic materials.
  • Compost is a good organic source of both phosphorus and potassium. You can also use rock phosphate, guano, blood meal, or bone meal to provide phosphorus, and seaweed to provide potassium.
