About the Plant -
- Botanically it is known as Neolamarckia cadamba from the Rubiaceae family.
- It is a large, evergreen tree with beautiful & unique flowers. It is a fast-growing tree with a broad crown and is even planted sacredly near temples.
- This beautiful tree is also known for its medicinal virtues. According to Hindu mythology, the tree was the favorite tree of Lord Krishna.
- It is an evergreen, fast shade-giving tree, perfuming flowers, edible fruits, leaves that are eatable to cattle, one of the most important Indian religious plants.
Facts About Kadam Tree
- It is associated with Lord Krishna, Radha, and Krishna are supposed to have conducted their love play in the hospitable and sweet-scented shade of the Kadam tree.
- Krishna steals the garments of unmarried Gopis and kept them on the Kadamba tree. The Kadamba tree was considered a holy tree by the Kadamba dynasty.
- According to Hindu tradition the 27 nakshatras, constituting 12 Houses (Rasis) and nine planets, are specifically represented precisely by 27 trees —one for each star. The Kadamba tree is said to represent Shatabhisha, roughly corresponding to Aquarii.
Growing Tips
- It is a very zero maintenance plant
- It is always recommended to plant it directly in the ground because it is a very huge tree.
- If you are planting beside the wall, then there should be a minimum of 3-5 meters of distance from the wall.

INITIAL CARE FOR 10-15 DAYS JUST AFTER RECEIVING YOUR PLANT
- Remove the Packaging Materials carefully.
- Press the soil in the pot & add additional soil(garden mix) if necessary.
- Maintain moisture in the pot, Do not overwater it may kill your plant, so make sure that the soil should be dry between watering.
- Make sure that plants get enough morning direct bright light(2-3hrs) for 10-15 days & do not go for immediate transplanting (minimum 1 month)
- After 1 month you can transplant it into a slightly bigger pot than the present pot or directly in the ground.
- Just prune if any branch of the plant is get damaged in transits. New leaves will come definitely.

In general outdoor plants prefer to grow under direct sunlight, so minimum 5-6hours of direct sunlight is essential for these collections.
Two important things are full sunlight & proper space to grow them because some plants need large space to grow.
Yes, if you are planting too close to the wall, it can damage your wall. Make sure that it is planted 3-4 meter away from the wall, exceptions for Palms & ornamental plants.
